Merry Christmas

Everyone at PWT would like to wish all customers a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year and say a big thank you for your continued support. We have had an exciting year, with steady growth in our proto typing service and overall capability. Moving forward, we intend to make sound investments during 2010 to continue our development in key areas of the manufacturing processes, to ensure we continue to service the PCB industry to the highest standards.

Our last working day in December will be the 23^rd and the first working day back will be 4^th January. HOWEVER, if you have any upcoming requirements and delivery is needed between these dates then please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to look into achieving this.

With PWT’s standard lead time of only seven working days and shipments up to and including Christmas Eve; it’s easier than ever to get those vital boards before the holidays.

Addition to Sales Team at PWT

We are pleased to announce a new member of the sales and management team here at PWT to help us maintain and improve upon where possible, our world class levels of customer service as we continue to grow. Billy Jones has been in the industry for over twenty years, the last twelve of these in a customer facing role. Billy joins us as Internal Sales Manager and will become the main point of contact for our customers within the sales office.

We are confident that Billy’s extensive experience and depth of knowledge will prove invaluable to both ourselves and our customers.

PWT's Christmas Opening Hours

As Christmas is fast approaching and we are getting asked by our customers, PWT's opening hours are as follows:-

Factory closing date is: Thursday 24th December 2009

Factory opening date is: Monday 4th January 2010

If you do require any special deliveries between these dates, then we will look into the possibility. Please contact the Sales Office.

PWT Offers Even More

- Reduced Lead Times            

To further improve our service to our loyal customer base and to make ourselves even more attractive to potential new clients, PWT is pleased to announce that, for a trial period we are reducing our standard lead time to 7 working days from the current 10. This will further differentiate us from our off shore competitors and hopefully enable more production business to be retained in the UK.

This has been made possible by the increased capacity created by the new Multi Layer Bonding Press and the updating of the Electrolytic Plating Line. This has made us more competitive than we have ever been on larger batches so that our customers can continue to benefit from PWT’s quality and service for their production schedules too.

- Improved Capabilities

At PWT we are aware that we must constantly look to improve our offering in order to continue to grow in an increasingly competitive market. To this end we are pleased to announce the following extensions to our capability specification:

Ohmega Ply

Ohmega Ply is a thin film resistor - conductor material. Using standard subtractive printed circuit technology, integral resistors are formed on circuit layers. These resistors can be buried within a multilayer circuit board or used on the board surface. We are already seeing demand for this technology and believe this can only grow.

Polyimide Multi-Layers

Thanks to the new multi layer bonding press we unveiled in our last bulletin, PWT is now able to support our customers requirements for polyimide multi-layers.

Half Price tooling for June

Having increased our front end engineering workforce by 50% the ramp up in capacity has pleasantly surprised us. To try to ensure they remain fully occupied and encourage new customers we are offering half price tooling on all orders placed in June.Get those designs ready!

Free tooling for transferred business

With an increasing amount of business being transferred to PWT from rival manufacturers it’s worth restating that we do not charge tooling for resourced product. Please let us know at time of quoting if the part(s) are currently with someone else and we’ll price accordingly.

New staff at PWT

PWT are pleased to announce the following appointments.

- Justyna Wrobel has joined our quality department. Justyna has come to us from a major UK pcb manufacturer and we are already feeling the benefit of her experience and professionalism as she helps us to build on our already excellent quality performance.

- Darren Jones has also come to PWT from another pcb manufacturer and is bringing his experience to bear on the machining side of the business; increasing our capacity in what had become a pressurised area of the manufacturing process and helping maintain our world class full batch on time delivery performance.

- Richard Spary has joined the Front End Engineering team at PWT, another area where we needed extra capacity to keep up with increasing demand while still being able to offer our industry leading fast turnarounds. Richard has been with PWT for four and a half years and his ability, initiative and willingness to learn new skills and accept whatever challenges we’ve thrown at him; have seen him gain a widely based and thorough knowledge of PCB manufacture, which can only stand him in good stead in his new position.

Successful BS Audit at PWT

We are pleased to announce that PWT passed our recent BS Audit without any non conformances and have upgraded our approval from ISO9001:2000 to ISO9001:2008.

PWT installs new bonding press

We are pleased that PWT have just installed a new Komtek vacuum press in our multilayer area. The new press will increase capacity and throughput in it’s own right as well as freeing up more room for an expanded lay up and storage area; allowing us to keep downward pressure on lead times while maintaining our world class full batch on time delivery performance.
